The Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies aims to show some of the cultural resources of the Canadian Rockies. It also studies the link between landscape and culture through exhibits from mountains around the world. Besides the Art Collection, comprising works by artist having lived or worked in the area, the Heritage Collection contains artifacts past and present, in particular relating to pioneers and mountain sports. The Archives preserve and offer access to a number of documents for research. The heritage homes are early 20th Century houses and cabins that are open to visitors. The museum is open daily except Christmas and New Year, from 10 am to 5 pm. Discounted tariffs are available for seniors, students and families.
