Liberty Science Center (Jersey City, USA)
You’ll love Liberty Science Center, the largest museum in New Jersey, located near the Statue of Liberty in Liberty State Park, Jersey City. With 12 galleries of hands-on science and technology exhibits and America’s largest IMAX Dome Theater, LSC is suitable for ages 2 to adult. In the mini zoo, see a family of tiny, endangered monkeys; poisonous snakes; and hundreds of other creatures that call LSC home. Isolate plant DNA and conduct other experiments in working labs. Navigate a maze in the dark. Make giant bubbles, climb across a rock wall, and race solar slot cars. LSC has an exhibit gallery reserved for young scientists ages 2-5 with special programs that introduce them to basic concepts in science and nature. Older guests can experience our tornado and hurricane-force wind simulators, and everyone enjoys free science demonstrations and shows all day. Youth groups can even make reservations to visit LSC and interact verbally with medical staff performing operations at area hospitals, or sign up for private laboratory workshops. New at LSC this year are the million-volt Tesla Electricity Show and the Infinity Climber, a thrilling airborne adventure where guests crawl and leap across 64 small platforms, ending up 35 feet above the floor. LSC also has a schedule of regularly-changing traveling exhibitions, most recently Beyond Rubik’s Cube and Guitar: The Instrument That Rocked the World. Special activities and shows are added on school holidays.
