The Town Museum with Schelling Memorial Room in Leonberg is located in the old Kepler School building where mathematician, astronomer and astrologer Johannes Kepler (1571-1630) went to school. The listed timber framed building can be found directly next to the Stadtkirche (Town Church). only a few metres from the historical market place, and is easily accessible with public transport. The exhibition is spread over 3 floors and follows the development of the town from the early stone age until present day. You will find items of daily use next to introductions of the town’s famous inhabitants which include, next to Johannes Kepler the mother of Friedrich Schiller, composer and writer Daniel Speer, Duchess Sybilla von Anhalt, the poet Eduard Moericke and others. A whole room has been dedicated to the memory of philosopher Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling, one of the most influential thinkers of the ‘German Idealism’. Opening hours: Tuesday - Thursday 2pm - 5pm Sunday 1pm to 6pm Guided tours can be arranged but must be booked in advance. Admission fees: Adults €2.50 Concessions €1.50 Children €0.50
